Painkiller.euro Invite Tourney

Wow. What can I say? Tonight has been a blast, and I would like to send a HUGE thank you to everyone that participated. It really has been a blast.

We started off with some server probs, but got around them fairly quickly thanks to the much appreciated help and dedication from ukgamer. Ive seen some of the greatest shots to date just from these few games, there was air stakes, air rockets and everything. Top class performance from all players.

The praise of the night though must go to Ztrider, who went into a match against the worlds #1 Painkiller player; Vo0. The first map was DM_Sacred where Vo0 came from behind to win 18:13 & then onto DM_Fallen2te, where Vo0 once again came from behind to win 11:10. Ztrider is certainly one to watch.

Tomorrow, we will see the semi-finals and the final played.. these will be

Stermy vs. SteLam & Vo0 vs. Sakh

These will be great games for sure.

You can check out the latest brackets here with the fancy version of the bracket here.

Thanks to all admins that helped out, and SLAYER for providing a server for a match or 2. GGs guys.

**UPDATE**

Stermy [22:4] SteLam – DM_Fallen2te
Stermy [18:9] SteLam – DM_Psycho

Intel Extreme Edition Challenge

As you would of seen some posts below, 4K and Intel have joined forces to offer one lucky person the chance to win a 1 year contract as a pro-gamer. Heres the offical press release:

INTEL® SEARCHES FOR NEW BLOOD TO JOIN KINGS OF eSPORTS

‘Intel Pentium® 4 Processor Extreme Edition Challenge III: Bloodline’: The gaming event to find fresh blood for Intel sponsored team ‘4Kings’

Swindon, UK – 5th November 2004. Intel Corporation announced today a gaming tournament that will take place on the 3rd-5th December in London. In the Bloodline tournament, the UKs top players will battle it out in order to find two new players to join the ranks of the world championship winning team: the 4Kings sponsored by Intel.

The players will participate in worldwide competitions in 2005 as part of the $1,000,000 CPL* World Tour and the game of choice will be Dreamcatchers* “Painkiller”*. The World Tour is the worlds most ambitious gaming competition, with the aim to find the best gamer and offer them the opportunity to compete against the best of the best. “We are very much looking forward to working alongside Intel on this event to prepare the UK for the CPL World Tour.” Said Jaffer Mir the UK CPL representative.

In order to qualify for the event, prospective gamers must take part this month in an online tournament run by Jolt Online Gaming, Europe’s largest independent online gaming specialist.

“It’s great to be working with Intel on this first leg of what’s sure to be a rip roaring event,” said Jolt CEO Dominic Silk, “With the expertise present and the UK’s most successful gaming clan involved, you can count on ‘Bloodline’ being the unmissable online gaming tournament of 2004.”

The eight top players will then fight it out in December with professional sportscasters describing the action and an Internet downloadable movie of the event will be made available on the event website in December 2004.

The event will also feature a ‘Bring Your Own Computer’ LAN-Party for up to 400 players and facilities for spectators.

Gamers interested in becoming members of the 4Kings clan or who want to take part in the LAN-Party should sign up here: www.bloodline.jolt.co.uk

Remember, the 4K tournament is open to UK residents only. Its a very exciting opportunity for someone to get in there, and become what they probably dream of. Good luck.

cha0ticz & Painkiller

Now that Painkiller is the game to be used for the ever famous The CPL: World Tour, lots of big named pro-gamers have come into the scene. One in particular is cha0ticz, who is known for his Quake 3 skills in 1v1. Recently, SK got the chance to put 1 or 2 questions to him.. here’s what he had to say:

What are you doing to prepare for the CPL World Tour and do you plan to go to all of the stops?

I’m putting as many hours as I can in online practice at the moment. This has been on average 4-5 hours each day for the past 4 weeks. I am getting plans together to get a decent amount of lan practice in just before the Winter CPL event as well. Yes, I do plan to attend all World Tour stops.
